Walk Over Beethoven

Vienna.  Hollywood's Star Walk is impressive, for sure.  But so is Vienna's.  In case you can't read the names on these stars, they are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven.

  2. I love the way you can't walk 100 meters in Vienna without coming across a plaque for a famous composer - or indeed a plaque saying that Mozart (the landlady's nightmare) lived here

    1. Apparently both composers moved quite a few times. Both even lived on my street at one time or another. I try to be open to their ghostly muses, just in case they are still hanging around the neighborhood.

  3. And may I boldly suggest that you remove word veri from your blog. I did this more than one year ago and found that blogger removes 99.9% of all spam.

    1. Badger, it's late and it has been a long, exhausting day...not quite sure what you are telling me. Perhaps it will be obvious by morning but tonight I'm a bit foggy. Could you please elaborate?

  4. Hollywood has stars that come and go, but these composers and their work live on forever. Never thought to call them "stars" but it does apply. Doesn't Vienna brag about Strauss and his waltzes? It was the first modern dance craze.

    1. Oh, you bet! With a golden statue, Strauss holds a position of high honor in Vienna's main downtown park, Stadtpark. In searching this site, I see I've neglected to post a photo of that iconic statue, despite having many photos of it.
