Schloss Grafenegg, northwest of Vienna, is one of the world’s fairy tale castles. Last year’s visit to its Christmas market was simply enchanting.

ReplyDeleteGrafenegg's Christmas market was December 8-11, 2011 but most of Vienna's Christmas markets historically have stayed open through December 24. If you are interested in hand made goods, Vienna's markets at Karlsplatz, Spittleberg, Maria Theresien Platz, Freyung, Am Hof and Schoenbrunn also have many beautiful and unusual hand made items. Any of them are fun to visit and enjoy a cup of punch or hot chocolate and a crepe, a waffle, or a giant pretzel. Good luck!
