Texas Culture Shock

Whenever I return to Texas I experience a bit of reverse culture shock. Seeing a cowboy, noticing that everyone else eats faster than I do, and watching local television news are all a bit (or in the case of TV news, extremely) disorienting. We recently stopped in a country store in central Texas to find fancy belts and horse tack, straw hats and Western-style handbags...all reminders that we aren't in Austria anymore.
