Windows and Wrought Iron

Vienna's architecture is a constant source of discovery and delight.  Every day there seems to be a surprise awaiting a glance.  These were found in the vicinity of Landstrasser Hauptstrasse and Petrusgasse in Vienna's Third District.  There's a certain appeal about these buildings that some would say are in need of paint.

I have photographed the following window before.  You can see it on a post from several years ago about Halloween HERE.

Psychedelic Drive

Paris, France.  Not far from Charles De Gaulle airport, this tunnel entrance is a work of art.  However, at certain times of day with the sun's angle just so, while driving about the speed limit, the play of light-shadow-light-shadow on one's eyes is almost painful.  Reminds me a bit of strobe lights from psychedelic light shows of the 60s without the slow-motion effect.  Not an experience you want to have while driving.  Good thing the sun's angle changes rather quickly, making the effect temporary.  This photo was taken on a subsequent drive through the tunnel when light and shadows were more diffuse and the journey much calmer.

Green Velvet

Thumsee.  The beguiling velvety texture of mossy trees connects me to a world of meditation, imagination and, yes, leprechuans.

Scenic Rally

Rossfeld Alpine Road, Bavaria, Germany.  It was our first time to drive this scenic parkway but the road was blocked at the half-way point due to an Old-Timer's Road Rally so, although we missed seeing the other side of the mountain, we got to enjoy the zooming by of a dozen or so oldies against a spectacular mountain backdrop.
