The Escalator is Out

Several U-Bahn stations in Vienna have been getting new or refurbished escalator steps. It seems like these metal steps should be able to last many decades, even a century, but I guess that is not the case. I liked the striped, circular, curved and triangular patterns of these resting stairs.
