Painted Sky

Thumsee, Germany.  This pastel evening sky is reminiscent of the painted skies on many European ceilings.  It's just missing a cherub or two and maybe a garland of roses.

  1. Beautiful and dramatic sky, Martha. Very nicely captured as well. You captured the colors perfectly.

  2. Ed, it was the sky that captured me. Sometimes I wish for a camera that sees what the eye sees. This was one of those times.

  3. That is a beautiful sky I would have though had come from a painting. Glad you could see and photograph it. Good you had your camera at hand.

    1. I nearly always have a small camera at hand. As my brother-in-law said, you never know when you might see a UFO or an alien.

    2. While I've seen some strange people, but I've never seen an alien and hope never to see one. If an alien shows up here it won't be good for humans. No contact between an advanced race and a more primitive one has ever worked out well for the primitive society. A UFO might be more exciting. They do seem to show up, but always go away for some reason. Perhaps they are just us from the future.

    3. Us from the future...very interesting concept. Will have to give it some thought. History proves your point about advanced "civilizations" vs. primitive ones yet I would love to meet a truly advanced alien, which would mean that he/she/it would be infinitely kind. Maybe UFOs check us out from time to time to see if we've become kind enough to receive them without violence.
