January Tulips

There's nothing like a bouquet of tulips, a cup of chai tea with milk and sugar, a good conversation and a few laughs to balance January's gray skies. I am especially fascinated by the white tulip that seems to get more beautiful as the days pass. I think it's called a Parrot Tulip but this one reminds me of a swan. As it unfolded it seemed to be a flower version of the ballet, Swan Lake. What incredible beauty, mystery and peace we've been given in a single flower if we only pay attention and look closely.

I especially love this image. That's tulip ballet!

  1. Martha, Your photos are always a bright spot in my day! The tulips remind me of Georgia O'Kief paintings, and the pasta and breads just made me hungry. You make simple things just so interesting. Thank you again for sharing with us. Molly
